Basic Piano Jazz / Rock Course Performance Books

For many music students, the opportunity to share what they've learned with friends and family can be a fun and rewarding experience. For others, the ability to entertain themselves can be incredibly beneficial. Either way, the Performance Books are intended to provide a variety of pieces to reinforce all of the new principals, concepts and ideas introduced throughout the Jazz/Rock course. Each piece will appeal to a variety of tastes and help develop your child's - or your! - versatile repertoire.

The Jazz/Rock Performance Books:
  • correlate page-by-page with Level 1 through Level 4 of the Jazz/Rock Lesson Books
  • which in turn correlate page-by-page with Level 1B through Level 4 of the Basic Piano Lesson Books
When used together, they offer the pianist a unique experience to develop into a well-trained jazz and rock musician. All of the Performance Books allow for Carolyne to play duet (jam!) along with your child as they are learning.

You are welcome to purchase any of these additional books and Carolyne will then incorporate them into your child's lesson. For the greatest effect, one of each level (Lesson, Improvisation, Performance) should be worked on at the same time.

By Level 5, students will progress to playing original versions of Jazz and Rock pieces.
