Basic Piano Jazz / Rock Course Lesson Books
A course within a course, the Jazz/Rock Lesson books provide a complete foundation for learning the music fundamentals behind the Blues, Boogie, Scat, Doo-Wop, and Swing. For some students, the familiar sounds of Jazz and Rock are just what they have been waiting for.
Your child - or you! - will be excited to begin this series once page 23 of Alfred's Basic Piano Lesson Book 1B has been completed. From that point on, each Jazz/ Rock lesson piece corresponds page by page with the Basic Piano Lesson book. All of the Lesson Books allow for Carolyne to play duet (jam!) along with your child as they are learning.
You are welcome to purchase any of these additional books and Carolyne will then incorporate them into your child's lesson. For the greatest effect, one of each level (Lesson, Improvisation, Performance) should be worked on at the same time.
By Level 5, your child will progress to playing original versions of Jazz and Rock pieces.
